International students must possess a certain level of proficiency in Korean or English.
Learn about language proficiency standards for admission and graduation, and the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK).
language skills
International students must submit proof of language proficiency in accordance with the language proficiency requirements of each college (department) upon admission to and graduation from degree programs.
* Korean language proficiency (Korean language course) or English language proficiency (English language course) above a certain standard
For Korean language courses, applicants generally submit a Certificate of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK PBT or IBT) as proof of Korean language ability when applying for admission; however, depending on the university, some accept a Certificate of Completion for the Ministry of Justice’s Social Integration Program (or preliminary assessment scores) or a Certificate of Completion for a local Sejong Institute Korean language course in addition to TOPIK.
Since language proficiency requirements for admission and graduation vary by college (department), you must verify with your desired university in advance.
